Vice Chancellor of Bentiu University met with UNMISS officials in Juba

The Vice Chancellor of Bentiu University of Petroleum Prof. Dr. Melha Rout Biel met with Madam Hiroko Hirahara, Director of Civil Affairs Division of the United Nations Mission in the Republic of South Sudan and his accompanying delegations. The meeting took place at the UNMISS Headquarters in Juba on the 21st of May 2026. Prof. Biel briefed the UN officials on situation of Bentiu University of Petroleum and on the efforts made to ensure that classes are conducted soon as the number of interested students is increasing. In this engagement with UN officials, the university is seeking support and collaboration with UNMISS, particularly in area of infrastructure development. We were impressed by the warm welcome and the fruitful exchanges of views in this regards. The two sides made commitment to continue engaging.
